Twentynine Palms Planning Commission looks at zoning for mobile home, RV parks, campgrounds

The City of Twentynine Palms is revisiting their policies regarding mobile home parks and campgrounds.

At Tuesday’s (October 15) regular session meeting of the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission, the City will hold a public hearing on a development code amendment that will modify regulations related to zoning related specifically to mobile home parks, recreational vehicle parks, and campgrounds. At public hearings held by the city over the last year, it was requested that each of these three types of similar but distinct properties be regulated individually.

Proposed changes to be discussed at tomorrow’s public hearing restricting campgrounds from rural living zones and increasing their minimum size, requiring sewage disposal systems for recreational vehicle parks, and setting density limits on mobile home parks. Restrictions for lot sizes, density and setbacks for each of the property types will also be considered.

Tomorrow’s meeting of the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will be held at 5 p.m. at Twentynine Palms City Hall.
