TWENTYNINE PALMS PLANNING COMMISSION LOOKS AT VHR PERMIT FOR DAMAGED HOUSE

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission meets this evening to address a pending permit for a specific vacation rental. Reporter Heather Clisby has the details…

Tonight, the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will address just one agenda item: the approval of a VHR permit for a damaged vacation home rental.

Twentynine Palms resident James Twomey has appealed the pending approval of the vacation home rental located on Sullivan Road. The home, owned by Dennis Aye, received structural damage last month when a car jumped the curb and smashed into the garage. Nobody was home at the time of the crash.

The commission will discuss the VHR permit and, in all likelihood, recommend that it not be issued until the garage is repaired and the building inspector issues an approval.

Tonight’s meeting is set for 5 p.m. in City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, in Twentynine Palms.
