Twentynine Palms Planning Commission discuss new brewpub, housing and homeless today (1/16)

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will meet this afternoon to discuss the permitting of a new brewpub, in addition to hosting study sessions on housing and the homeless.

Mike Usher, co-owner of Grnd Sqrl (just a few storefronts away), and business partner, Eric Smith, applied last July to establish a “small beer manufacturer and brewhouse/ brewpub” to utilize 2,800 square feet of existing building.

The commission will then move on to several study sessions starting with the Housing and Homeless Committee. There will be a presentation on three options for housing the homeless – Adaptive Reuse, New Build, and Home Revitalization Program. An additional discussion will focus entirely on the latter program.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday, January 16, at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road. It can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, www.29palms.org
