At the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission meeting last night, an appeal regarding a barking dog was upheld by a vote of four to one following an impassioned plea by a neighbor. The vote determined the dog at 73042 Sun Valley Drive could be considered a public nuisance and necessary steps to address the issue may now be taken by animal control.
Also approved was construction of a new facility adjacent to the Spirit and Truth Worship Center Church. Planning Commission Chair Greg Mendoza went on to compliment the applicant for the comprehensive application and thorough documentation provided.
Prior to adjourning, Community Development Director Travis Clark reported on additional updates: nearly 90 percent of the designs for project Phoenix are complete; a Highway 62 sidewalk project will begin soon; upgrades on all substandard ADA ramps throughout the city will also begin soon; two new bike trails were approved at the last City Council meeting; and construction on the long-awaited Starbucks is likely to begin before the end of the month.
