Starting with the 16,000 square foot commercial building making its way to Twentynine Palms, the planning commission reviewed site plans and designs for the new Grocery Outlet planting its roots across the highway from the Stater Brothers’ shopping center. The site plan includes native plants and three entrances for parking, two being on Encelia Ave. and the third being on Highway 62. After a few questions for the developers and designers, the commission approved the Grocery Outlet site plans and design, 5-0.
Moving on to an appeal for VHR permit #168 on Manana Ave., the commission heard public comment from the applicants, appellants and residents, both against and in favor of the VHR permit. After hearing concerns regarding noise, safety, and neighborhood crowding, the commission determined that since the applicant for the VHR permit had met all requirements and passed inspections, the appeal was denied and the planning commission approved VHR permit #168 in a 5-0 vote.
