TWENTYNINE PALMS MARINE DIES IN LAKE HAVASU BOATING ACCIDENT

A Marine stationed at Twentynine Palms was visiting friends in Lake Havasu for the Independence Day holiday weekend when a fun day on the water turned deadly. About 3 p.m. on the Fourth of July, Lance Corporal Chad Brammer, 23, was riding a Jet Ski in the lake’s South Basin area when he crossed the bow of a 31-foot boat. Brammer, who was wearing a life jacket, was thrown into the water. A witness pulled him out, and he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. None of the six people aboard the other boat were injured; there was no word on whether alcohol was a factor in the accident. . Lance Cpl. Brammer, a native of Lambertville, Michigan, had been stationed at Twentynine Palms Marine Corps base in California for more than a year.
