A Twentynine Palms man was tased and arrested Thursday night after he allegedly tried to grab a deputy’s gun. According to a Sheriff’s report, security at Tortoise Rock Casino spotted Christopher Blackler, 26, who was wanted by deputies on warrants on drug charges, playing slots, and called deputies shortly before 10 p.m. Deputies Anthony Alcala and Jack Dieckhoff confirmed that Blackler had $625,000 in warrants and attempted to put him under arrest. The report states Blackler tried to flee and a struggle ensued. Blackler then allegedly tried to grab Deputy Dieckhoff’s holstered handgun, and he was tased by Deputy Alcala. Christopher Blackler was then arrested for investigation of resisting arrest, and on his warrants for transporting narcotics and for hit and run causing injury, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $675,000.
