TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN, SUSPECTED DUI, DRIVES INTO A NEIGHBOR’S BEDROOM

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested after driving his mother’s gray sedan into a neighbor’s bedroom. The accident happened around 4 p.m. last Sunday at an apartment complex in the 5200 block of Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms. The sedan caused major damage to the bedroom; witnesses said the occupants weren’t home at the time. The driver, identified only as Castner, did sustain an injury but remained determined as he backed out of the apartment bedroom. This time Castner rammed the building’s carport pillar breaking the support in half and narrowly missing some high voltage equipment before coming to a stop. Still seemingly unphased by the events and despite his injury, a witness said Castner gathered up his alcohol containers, exited mom’s sedan and went for a lie down in his neighboring apartment. Sheriff’s deputies determined Castner had a blood alcohol count greater than .08 and arrested him for DUI. Castner was cite released at Hi-Desert Medical Center.
