TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN SEEN STEALING RESTAURANT TIPS ON VIDEO

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Sunday, accused of stealing money from a restaurant’s tip jar. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies responded to the 73600 block of Sun Valley Avenue in response to a 911 text. The text said two men, who were drunk, stole money from a tip jar and attempted to open the cash register to steal money. The deputy found the two men who matched the description in the restaurant’s parking lot. After watching the restaurant’s video, which showed Errick Toa taking money from the tip jar and pressing buttons in an attempt to get the cash register to open, the deputy arrested Errick Toa for investigation of burglary. Toa was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000. The other suspect required medical attention for an injury to the back of his head.
