A Twentynine Palms resident has qualified for a national motorcross championship in July. Austin Meyers, a two-year-employee of Hutchins Motor Sports in Yucca Valley, is one of 1,446 qualifiers in the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motorcross Championship in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, July 29 through August 3. To help Meyers with his expenses for the trip, Hutchins Motor Sports will hold a car and bike wash today from 9 to 3. In addition, 10 percent of cash sales of clearance items for everything off road will also go to Meyers.
