TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN HIT IN THE FACE WITH AN AX

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an incident Sunday night in Twentynine Palms that left one man with multiple facial injuries. According to a Sheriff’s report, a 28-year-old man called 911 at 10:25 p.m. Sunday to report he had been hit in the face with an ax. He told dispatchers he was near Raymond Drive and Adobe Road, but due to his injuries, he couldn’t actually see where he was. Paramedics found him near Raymond Drive and Bullion. Responding deputies said the scene was not consistent with the victim’s statements and are investigating the incident. The man suffered several lacerations to his face, had a possible broken nose, possible fractured skull, and possible broken jaw. He was taken to Luckie Park and flown to Loma Linda Medical Center.
