A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Thursday morning accused of possessing drugs for sale. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy attempted to stop Charles Perez, 25, riding his bicycle near Tamarisk Avenue and 29 Palms Highway about 2 a.m. in Twentynine Palms. Perez fled from deputies, but was stopped a short distance away. During a search of Perez, deputies found marijuana, methamphetamine, cell phones and cash, which they determined were consistent with drug sales. After an investigation, Charles Perez was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances for sales, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
