TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN FOUND WITH STOLEN VEHICLE

A call to deputies about a man trying to sell drugs to tourists in a hotel parking lot ended in an arrest for a Twentynine Palms man who was accused of being in possession of a stolen vehicle. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 72500 block of 29 Palms highway in Twentynine Palms just before 10 p.m. where they found Andrew Gaxiola, 26. Deputies were alerted to a possible stolen vehicle just east of the hotel.
The vehicle had a tampered ignition, broken window, and license plates that belonged to another vehicle. The car’s owner was contacted and confirmed the vehicle had been stolen in Hemet. Gaxiola allegedly admitted to the deputy that he had been in the vehicle the previous day and tried to start it, and suspected that it had been stolen due to its condition. Andrew Gaxiola was arrested for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
