A Twentynine Palms man—who has warrants for his arrest—and who towed a trailer off someone else’s property faces a more serious charge when he was found with drugs when he was booked into jail Monday. According to a Sheriff’s report, a resident in the 400 block of Bluegrass Avenue in Twentynine Palms called about 2:45 p.m. Monday to report that her neighbor, Benjamin Johnson, 51, had towed her trailer off her property without her permission. The deputy learned that the owners of the trailer only wanted the tires and license plates back. Johnson admitted to taking the trailer and the deputy learned that Johnson had misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. While Johnson was being booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, the deputy found methamphetamine on his person. Benjamin Johnson was arrested for investigating of bringing drugs into jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
