TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN BRINGS HOME INTERNATIONAL KARATE SILVER

A Twentynine Palms Man proved he still had what it takes, winning the silver medal representing the United States in the eighth world Shito Ryo Karate Do Championships. M.E. Wilson, retired after 25 years in the army, traveled to Monterey, Mexico, last week for the international competition. Wilson said it was his first time fighting competitively in 40 years. The Dominican Republic took the gold and Mexico the bronze. Wilson is an assistant coach for the Twentynine Palms High School track team.
