A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Wednesday, accused of assaulting a deputy. About 9 p.m. deputies were called to the 6500 block of Lupine Avenue in Twentynine Palms because a man, later identified as Hunter Heller, 21, was destroying a woman’s bedroom, threatening to shoot himself. He also turned on the stove and threatened to burn the house down. When the deputy arrived, Heller tried to flee but fell when jumping a fence. When the deputy caught him, Heller allegedly tried to punch and elbow the deputy. Hunter Heller was arrested for investigation of resisting arrest, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
