A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Sunday morning after he was found with stolen property. According to Sheriff’s Deputy Armando Cantu, residents in the 5900 block of Aztec Avenue in Twentynine Palms heard a car alarm go off about 2:36 am. and saw a suspicious man walking around the parking lot of the housing area. Deputies set up a perimeter and located a man, later identified as Benjamin Worthington, 28. Worthington fled and hid in the open desert south of the housing area. Deputies searched the area for more than an hour before finding Worthington hiding in some bushes. When Worthington was located, he was found with property that had been reported stolen over the past two weeks. Benjamin Worthington was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
