A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday (March 26), after he was found with an illegal weapon. About 2 a.m., a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Joseph Cleary, 42, in the 73900 block of Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms. Cleary is on felony probation, and during a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a wooden staff-type weapon. The deputy also determined that Cleary was driving while high on drugs. Joseph Cleary was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a dangerous weapon and violating the terms of his post-release community supervision, was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail.
