A Twentynine Palms man suspected of trying to rob an older woman in Mecca was arrested. Dennis Delgado Moralez, 39, was arrested about 3:20 p.m. Sunday, about an hour after the attempted robbery was reported, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Moralez drove to the home, allegedly brandished a handgun and demanded money from an elderly woman. Deputies, spotted Moralez, saw him run through backyards, captured him and recovered a gun. Moralez was booked into Riverside County jail in Indio with $75,000 bail on suspicion of attempted robbery and elder abuse.
