TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED ON WEAPONS AND DRUG CHARGES

A Twentynine Palms man who led deputies on a high-speed pursuit on his dirt bike a month ago was arrested Sunday for outstanding warrants and possession of drugs and weapons. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 4 p.m. Sunday, a deputy saw Bruce Edginton, 25, arrive at a fast food restaurant in the 72600 block of 29 Palms Highway on an unlicensed dirt bike. The deputy determined that Edginton had arrest warrants in Los Angeles County for driving on a suspended license and possession of methamphetamine. Bruce Edginton was also arrested for investigation of possession of brass knuckles and concealed dirks or daggers. While he was being booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, the deputy discovered Edginton was bringing meth into the jail, and he was also arrested for bringing narcotics into jail. Edginton was released on $25,000 bail bond Sunday night. On July 1, Bruce Edginton was spotted illegally riding an off-road dirt bike on Lear Avenue, and during the pursuit, he drove at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour through Twentynine Palms until he crashed into a van near Amboy Road and Adobe Avenue. Edginton was injured in the crash and was flown to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
