Twentynine Palms man arrested for suspected DUI after rear-end collision on Highway 62

After a collision in Twentynine Palms that left one person injured, a man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
On Saturday (3/21) at around 8:26 p.m. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a collision near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Mesquite Springs Road in Twentynine Palms. Deputies say that a vehicle driven by Vincent Paplia, 32, rear-ended a second vehicle on the highway. Deputies say they were notified of the collision by a person in the second car, and that occupants in the second car reported injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department did not provide information about the nature or severity of the injuries.
Deputies arrived and contacted Paplia. They determined that Paplia may have been under the influence while driving, and took him into custody at around 10:15 p.m.
Vincent Paplia was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing bodily injury. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and has since been released on bail.
