Twentynine Palms man arrested for suspected burglary after allegedly breaking in and sleeping in victim’s home

On Monday morning around 2 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to a call in the 6800 block of Eucalyptus Avenue in Twentynine Palms, regarding a report of an adult male sleeping inside of the caller’s residence.

Deputies determined the suspect, Bobby Ray Carrllo Jr., 32, had entered the victim’s residence through an unlocked garage door. The 72-year old victim told deputies that she was sleeping in her bed and woke up to find Carrllo laying next to her and he refused to leave, stating “he was going to sleep.” Deputies say the victim contacted family members who arrived and confronted Carrllo, who fled the home and attempted to enter another residence, where he was confronted by the homeowner and left.

The suspect was identified using security video and was apprehended near Mariposa Ave. and Twentynine Palms Highway. Bobby Ray Carrllo Jr. was arrested for investigation into residential burglary and booked into the Morongo Basin Station.
