A man on post-release community supervision was arrested in Twentynine Palms for investigation into battery leading to serious injury and preventing a witness from reporting the incident.
On Sunday afternoon at approximately 1:15 pm, as part of an investigation into a violent attack that left a victim with serious injuries, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Palo Verde Ave in Twentynine Palms. Sheriff’s Department records indicate that deputies contacted Cori Stapleton, 35, and identified him as the suspect in the attack. Stapleton was found to be on post-release community supervision for a violent crime.
The Sheriff’s Department did not provide the status of the victim.
Cori Stapleton was arrested for investigation into battery with serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon with the possibility of great bodily injury, and attempting to prevent a witness or victim from reporting the crime.
