TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED FOR HOME INVASION AFTER HIGH SPEED CHASE

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Thursday night, accused of a home invasion robbery and high-speed pursuit. The Sheriff’s Department said residents in the 6400 block of Goleta Avenue in Yucca Valley called just before 10 p.m. to report that a man had broken into their home and stolen their car. About 2:30 a.m. Friday morning, a Sheriff’s deputy located the car traveling westbound on Highway 62 near Midway Road in Twentynine Palms and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Terrence Hodges, 42, fled from deputies at speeds close to 100 miles per hour into Yucca Valley. Deputies and officers from the California Highway Patrol used spike strips to stop the vehicle near La Contenta Road. Terrance Hodges was arrested for investigation of robbery, felony reckless evading, and violating the terms of his probation, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail.
