A Twentynine Palms man was arrested at gunpoint Sunday afternoon after a woman said he tried to break into her home. According to a Sheriff’s report, Anthony Pitts, 33, and his brother Joshua Pitts, 25, went to a home in the 6700 block of Sage Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 5:45 p.m. to confront the residents about stealing their quad. The resident, who was home at the time, said Anthony Pitts knocked at the door, then went around to the back of the home, and tried to get inside through a window. Another suspect fled in a Red Dodge Ram truck when deputies arrived; deputies detained Anthony Pitts at gunpoint. Deputies said they found methamphetamine on Anthony Pitts, and he was arrested for investigation of possession of paraphernalia. Pitts was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, cited and released.
