TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED AFTER DOING DONUTS

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Saturday night after he did donuts in front of a Sheriff’s deputy and then tried to evade arrest. A deputy on patrol about 9:45 p.m. Saturday night saw a blue Nissan 350Z being driven by a man, later identified as Joshua Lewis, 27, doing donuts in the desert east of Utah Trail and Two Mile Road. The deputy tried to make a traffic stop, but Lewis drove around the deputy to flee the scene, but in the process, Lewis swerved into a Dodge Ram truck parked on Two Mile Road. Lewis then got out of the Nissan to run away on foot, but he lost his balance and fell. He was detained without further incident. Joshua Lewis was arrested for investigation of felony failure to yield, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
