TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED AFTER A PURSUIT

Updated 4:45 p.m. with additional information.

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Tuesday night, accused of leading deputies on a pursuit. About 8:30 p.m., deputies tried to stop a Dodge Ram pick-up truck near Onaga Trail and Victoria Avenue in Yucca Valley for vehicle violations. The driver, later identified as Mark Vogt, 51, drove off westbound on Onaga Trail, leading deputies on a pursuit. During the pursuit, Vogt crashed into a tree near the intersection with Joshua Lane and then fled on foot before he was captured by deputies. Deputies determined that Vogt had more than an ounce of methamphetamine, over an ounce of psilocybin mushrooms, and illicit narcotics proceeds. Mark Vogt was arrested on suspicion of felony failure to yield and transporting a controlled substance, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000.
