TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED 3 DAYS AFTER BEING RELEASED FROM JAIL

A Twentynine Palms man who had been released from jail on Tuesday was arrested Friday night, after residents caught him trying to break into their homes. According to a Sheriff’s report, residents in the 74800 block of Alta Loma Drive in Twentynine Palms called about 9 p.m. to report that a man was trying to break into homes in the area. One woman said that the suspect was inside her car, and when she confronted him, he fled. Deputies found a man who matched the description of the burglar, later identified as Christopher Blackler, 27, in the 74600 block of Alta Loma Drive, and detained him. Deputies determined that Blackler had entered—or tried to enter—at least four homes in the area, and had stolen a cell phone in one of the homes. Blackler was on parole for transportation of a controlled substance, and had been sentenced March 28 to 150 days in jail for violating his parole, and released Tuesday. Christopher Blackler was arrested for investigation of burglary, attempted burglary, and for his parole violation, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail.
