A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Sunday morning, accused of transporting drugs. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a vehicle for an expired registration near Lupine Avenue and Joshua Drive in Twentynine Palms about 3 a.m. During an investigation, the driver, Craig Carter, 43, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, an AR-15 rifle, and a knife. The report states that Carter said he was transporting the drugs as a favor for a friend. After an investigation, Craig Carter was arrested on suspicion of unlawful sale of speed, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
