TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF THREATENING A WOMAN WHO REFUSED SEX

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Saturday, accused of threatening to beat up a woman. Shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday, a woman called 911 to report that Jamaceeo Edwards, 22, was supposed to take her to a party, but instead, he took her to another location and then tried to force her to have sex with him. When she refused, she said he pulled her out of the car, hit her, and ripped her clothes. Edwards was gone when deputies arrived, but he was soon located in the 73100 block of 29 Palms Highway. Jamaceeo Edwards was arrested for investigation of making criminal threats, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
