TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF STRONG-ARM ROBBERY

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Tuesday, accused of strong arm robbery of a convenience store Monday night. According to a Sheriff’s report, the man entered the store in the 73700 block of 29 Palms Highway shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday night and concealed three cans of Red Bull on his person. The cashier confronted the man, which led to an altercation outside the store, and the suspect allegedly punched the cashier several times. During the investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Robert Watts, 23. Deputies located Robert Watts and he was arrested for investigation of strong arm robbery, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
