A Twentynine Palms man was arrested, and deputies are searching for a second suspect, for street racing Saturday in Twentynine Palms. About 9:45 p.m., deputies saw two vehicles racing northbound on Adobe Road near Desert Trail Drive at speeds of 65 to 70 miles per hour. The speed limit in that area is 40 miles per hour. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, only one vehicle pulled over; deputies lost sight of the other vehicle due to the driver’s high rate of speed. Inside the vehicle that stopped was Sir Sims, 22. Sir Sims was arrested for investigation of participating in a street race, cited and released; his vehicle was impounded.
