A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Monday morning, accused of stealing a car and Barbie dolls. The victim told deputies he allowed Luis Samaniego, 29, to stay at his home in the 6100 block of Ocotillo Avenue in Twentynine Palms overnight, and he was going to drive Samaniego to Palm Springs the next morning. The victim said while he was in the shower, Samaniego took the keys to his car, along with 30 vintage Barbie dolls, and left. Deputies located Samaniego in the car a few miles away. Luis Samaniego was arrested on suspicion of grand theft and vehicle theft, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
