TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF STEALING A CAR

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested after a woman said he stole her car. According to a Sheriff’s report, a Yucca Valley woman reported her vehicle stolen just after 9 p.m. Saturday. She told Deputy Armando Cantu that Mark Jones, 49, of Twentynine Palms had stolen her vehicle while she was in the shower. About 2:48 a.m. Sunday morning, Deputy Gerardo Jimenez saw the Jones in the vehicle in the 4500 block of Adobe Road. Jimenez stopped the vehicle and arrested Mark Jones without incident for grand theft auto. Jones was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
