A convicted felon was arrested early Wednesday morning, accused of shooting at a Twentynine Palms motel. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the Best Western Motel just before 3 a.m. Wednesday morning for shots fired. Deputies located several bullet holes on the east-facing wall of the motel. No one at the motel was injured by the shots. Evidence led deputies to Derek Burns, 25, of Twentynine Palms, who is on felony probation. Derek Burns was arrested for investigation of shooting at an inhabited dwelling as well as a probation violation. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $250,000.
