TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF RESISTING ARREST AFTER REPEATEDLY KICKING A DEPUTY

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Tuesday (August 31) accused of resisting arrest after repeatedly kicking a Deputy. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies responded to the 6600 block of Quail Springs Road just after 2 a.m. for an unknown disturbance report. Deputies arrived and contacted Darrel Sheffield, 29, at the scene. During the investigation, Deputies determined that Sheffield had a $100,000 misdemeanor warrant for spouse abuse. Deputies detained Sheffield and, while attempting to place him in the patrol vehicle, Sheffield assaulted a deputy by kicking him several times. Darrell Sheffield was arrested on his warrant and for investigation of resisting arrest and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.
