TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF PUNCHING HIS WIFE

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Tuesday after his wife said he punched her. According to a Sheriff’s report, Henry Calvin, 23, was arguing with his wife in the 5900 block of Chia Avenue about 8 p.m. The victim told deputies that Calvin threw multiple items on the ground, then pushed the woman onto the couch, got on top of her and started punching her with both fists. The victim told the deputy that she was in fear for her life, had trouble breathing when Calvin was on top of her, and she had bruising and scratches on her body. Henry Calvin was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
