TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF METHAMPHETAMINE SALES

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested on Saturday, December 22, accused of possession of methamphetamine and attempted burglary. According to a Sheriff’s report, Deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 69000 block of Brant Crossing Road in Twentynine Palms at about 11:30 p.m. The reporting party stated that the suspects had done burnouts and doughnuts in their driveway then attempted to kick open the front door to their home before driving off. Deputies began a patrol of the area and located James Thomas, 27, outside of his vehicle at the intersection of Lear Avenue and Pole Line Road. The Deputy attempted to communicate with Thomas, but Thomas reportedly did not comply with the Deputy’s verbal orders.

The Deputy then drew his gun, ordering Thomas to lie on the ground. Thomas complied and was placed in handcuffs. During a search of the vehicle, the Deputy located a scale, multiple small plastic baggies, drug paraphernalia, and bags of suspected methamphetamine. James Thomas was arrested for investigation of attempted burglary, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, an on three no bail warrants and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $205,000.
