According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy was at Joshua Tree Elementary School on an unrelated call when the deputy was asked to look at the child, whose shoulders and buttocks had bruises. The child said Patrick Wright, 27, was responsible for the marks by slapping the child on the shoulder and using a belt on the child’s buttocks. After an investigation, Patrick Wright was arrested for cruelty to a child, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
