TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF FELONY SPOUSE ABUSE

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Monday morning, accused of choking his girlfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 75300 block of Squaw Road about 10 p.m. for a report that a man, later identified as Stephen Rogers, 43, was beating up a woman. The victim told deputies that Rogers punched and kicked her several times, said he was going to kill her, and choked her from behind. The deputy noted that she did not have visible injuries. After an investigation, Stephen Rogers was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and was released Monday afternoon on $50,000 bail.
