A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he punched his wife. According to a Sheriff’s report, when Colt Bergman, 22, and his wife returned home to the 6600 block of Mesquite Avenue about 2:30 a.m. from partying with friends, he started arguing with his wife. During the argument, both became combative, and deputies were called to the scene. No injuries were reported, and after deputies left, Bergman continued the fight, punching her, causing swelling and bruising on her face and head, and biting her on her arms. His wife fought back and scratched Bergman on his neck and thumb. When deputies returned, they determined Bergman to be the aggressor and arrested Colt Bergman for investigation of felony spouse abuse. Bergman was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
