TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF FELONY ELDER ABUSE

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday morning, accused of punching the woman he was caring for. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 6500 block of Eucalyptus Avenue about 5:45 a.m. The woman said she was sleeping and was woken up by being punched by Raymond Calkins, 67. After an investigation, Raymond Calkins was arrested on suspicion of felony elder abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
