A Twentynine Palms man was arrested in Yucca Valley, accused of causing a three-vehicle crash while driving high on drugs. About 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, James Murphy, 43, was driving a Dodge Caravan on Highway 62 when he rear-ended a Toyota sedan near Camino del Cielo. The collision caused the Toyota to collide into the vehicle in front of it. Murphy then left the scene. Deputies located Murphy near Palm Avenue and Stardust Trail in Yucca Valley and learned he was on felony probation and had a suspended license. A field sobriety test showed that Murphy was driving under the influence of marijuana. James Murphy was arrested for a probation violation and for investigation of driving under the influence of drugs, was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail.
