TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF CAR THEFT

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Tuesday, accused of being in possession of a stolen car. Deputies were called to the 6600 block of Smoke Tree Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning where they found a stolen 2007 Chevrolet. Deputies contacted Anthony Romero, 46. After an investigation, Anthony Romero was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a stolen vehicle and for an active arrest warrant, booked into the West Valley Detention center, with his bail set at $50,000. Darryn Murray, 39, was also arrested for investigation of being in violation of his parole. Darryn Murray booked into the West Valley Detention Center, and is being held without bail.
