A Twentynine Palms man was arrested early Friday morning, accused of beating his girlfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman told deputies that her boyfriend, identified as Salvador Hildalgo, 38, choked her and punched her in the face with his fists at their home in the 6600 block of Cholla Avenue earlier that night, and she fled to a bar in the 73600 block of 29 Palms Highway in Twentynine Palms where she called for help about 1:20 a.m. Deputies went to the home on Cholla Avenue, but Hildalgo refused to let them inside. Deputies got a key to the residence and went inside, where they found Hildago, along with two other people, who told deputies they were too afraid of Hildalgo to open the door for them. After an investigation, Salvador Hildalgo was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, false imprisonment, and on two warrants for probation violations. Hildalgo was booked at the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $75,000.
