TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF BEATING A WOMAN

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday after his girlfriend said he beat her up. Deputies were called to the 72100 block of Sunnyslope Drive in Twentynine Palms about 6:15 p.m. by a man who said that his girlfriend was beating him with a pipe. After an investigation, deputies determined that Tyler Jones, 21, was arguing with the woman and then pushed her into a metal wood-burning stove. The woman also said that Jones choked her as he held her on the floor. Deputies saw lacerations and bruises on the woman’s head, ribs, neck, and throat. Tyler Jones was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Central Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
