Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Twentynine Palms man Wednesday, suspected of being the shooter in a drive-by shooting last Friday. Deputies say that Joshua Hill, 18, got in an argument with residents over his reckless driving in the 72700 block of Wildcat Way in Twentynine Palms about 9:30 p.m. last Friday night. The residents said that Hill told them “you’ll see what’s up,” and left. The couple were sitting on their front porch when Hill returned about 10 minutes later. The man said Hill challenged him to a fight, and when he refused, Hill fired eight shots at the couple. Two of the bullets hit the house, but no one was hit or injured. Hill fled eastbound on El Paseo. Deputies identified leads pointing to Hill as the suspect. Joshua Hill was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Springs for investigation of attempted murder, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $1 million.
