A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Sunday accused of assaulting a firefighter. According to Sheriff’s reports, fire personnel were checking on a patient at a home in the 73500 block of Didsbury Drive in Twentynine palms around 4:15 p.m. During the check, the patient’s father, later identified as William Shouler, 62, assaulted a firefighter by punching them behind their shoulder blades. Deputies responded and identified Shouler as the suspect through the picture on his drivers license. William Shouler was arrested for investigation of battery against emergency personnel and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.
