TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF $1.5 MILLION ARSON, VANDALISM

We have more information about a Twentynine Palms man who was arrested last week, accused of arson and vandalism. More than a year ago, on February 11, 2019, deputies were called to Tetra Technologies in a remote area in Cadiz where numerous pieces of heavy equipment and buildings had been vandalized and set on fire. The damage was estimated to be in excess of $1.5 million. Deputies from the Morongo Basin and Needles Sheriff’s Stations, as well as from the arson and bomb unit, responded and conducted an investigation. Over the next year, Needles deputies developed leads identifying Chase Morning, 36, as a suspect in the case. On Thursday, March 26, Chase Morning was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and arson, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and was released on $100,000 bail, pending a court hearing.
