TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED IN ARMED ROBBERY OF THE JOSHUA TREE INN

A Twentynine Palms transient was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with the armed robbery of the Joshua Tree Inn. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Brandon Lamar, 32, went to the Joshua Tree Inn about 5:10 p.m. Friday and demanded money from the inn clerk at gunpoint. After receiving the undisclosed amount of cash, Sheriff’s officials say Lamar fled on foot. The clerk was not injured during the confrontation. Through investigation, Lamar was identified as a suspect and arrested near Highway 62 and Lupine in Twentynine Palms about 4:30 p.m. Monday. Brandon Lamar was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000.
